What The Media Says About Natural Health Products

It is hard to understand why the media has taken so long to finally realize the importance of natural health practices and products. Natural remedies have been used since the Roman Empire ruled and the Trojans marched to battle. There are remedies for injuries, illnesses, pain relievers and more. Plants, herbs and spices as well as essential oils have all been used to relieve everything from migraines to colon cleansing. As the media relays more information about natural products and does so in a positive light people will realize that cures are in their garden, at the farmer’s market and their local health food store.

Natural products are making their way into the media spotlight more and more. As traditional pharmaceutical medications continue to bring about deadly side effects people are more inclined to choose a natural remedy or treatment. An example are those who suffer from nasal congestion and allergies can find sinus relief from all-natural nasal sprays made from water and sea salt or herbal teas such as goldenseal and chamomile. More and more news programs are also offering experts who provide examples of how to cure the body through foods. Horseradish for example when eaten, its vapors naturally open the nasal passages for easier breathing.  Teas from eucalyptus leaves or peppermint can also open nasal passages and provide sinus relief from congestion.

The media is also providing more information on how the American diet full of processed foods is creating a number of health concerns including constant constipation. Suggestions on how to eat healthier more fiber rich foods and how adding flaxseed to salads and cereals can naturally prevent constipation. Drinking plenty of water and getting regular exercise can also keep the bowels moving regularly.

The media has put a lot of focus on natural treatment for menopause symptoms. Everything from morning news shows to afternoon talk shows have had guests that offer natural remedies for relief of hot flashes and night sweats. Some people have sworn by black cohosh for reliefs of night sweats while other consider soy products to be very beneficial. Several Chinese herbs such as dong quai are said to provider menopause symptom relief.

Most recently the media as well as television commercials are showing more commercials for natural product promotion. Offers and information about products for menopause symptoms as well as insomnia can be seen on television. So many Americans suffer from lack of sleep that the increase in sleep aid products has doubled. The risk of becoming dependant to these medications forces many to consider natural sleep aids such as hop, sage, chamomile and Bella Donna are all herbs that promote sleep. Scents of lavender or clary sage oil are also said to help calm a person and ease them to sleep. More information on homeopathy, acupuncture/acupressure, reflexology and other natural health choices are making their way to the American public through the media. It is a good day in this country as we realize that our bodies can be healed and our quality of life improved through the foods we eat and the methods we use to treat illness and doing so in a natural way.
