SUEING OUR NEIGHBORS

We thought that we had the best personal injury attorney for the case, and after briefing her about my injuries and sending over my medical records and having an agreement she calls me at work and says that she will have to recluse her self.  She has a conflict of interest.  It seems that her husband, a doctor, has treated the wife of the man who caused my injury.  It's just a small world here in this big town.  I asked her if she could recommend any lawyer, and she said that she didn't want to do that.  And she left it at that.  I couldn't believe it.  I could understand the conflict of interest, but not being able to recommend any other lawyer?  Seemed strange.  Well, we found out how strange it really was, when we tried to get other lawyers in town to take a look a the case.  Most never returned my phone calls for an appointment, and those that did, could only see me in a few months.  I'd never heard of such a thing.  We really didn't want to get into having to sue our neighbors, but his insurance company wouldn't cover my treatments, and my insurance was exhausted.  This meant we were using our savings.
